2021-9-29  In 1864 the Aberdovey Slate Company (from 1867 the Abergynolwyn Slate Company) reopened the workings with capital raised in Manchester. The quarry changed hands a number of times after that and was eventually bought in 1910 by Mr Henry Haydn Jones, who was elected MP in 1911 and knighted in 1937.
